Refund and Cancellation Policy
ALTUS PLATFORM LLC · Altus Language School
Last updated: 6 October 2026.
1. Scope
This policy applies to online language lessons, enrollment services and learning-platform access offered by ALTUS PLATFORM LLC under the Altus Language School brand. Read it together with the Terms of Service at /en/terms-of-service and your individual course contract.
Our standard offer is a monthly lesson plan with platform access included. There are no physical goods to ship or return. Prices are displayed in Japanese yen (JPY).
2. How to cancel
You may cancel without a cancellation penalty and do not need to give a reason.
For an eligible subscription, sign in at /login, open your subscription area at /aluno/assinatura and use the cancellation control. Review the confirmation and the end date shown in your account.
For a school-managed plan, or if you cannot access the cancellation control, email contact@altusplatform.net from your registered email address. Include your name and the course or plan you wish to cancel.
Cancel before the next renewal to stop future subscription renewals. Cancellation does not automatically reverse an existing payment or remove invoices already issued. Any billing error or refund entitlement is reviewed separately.
You may continue the contracted lessons through the end of the paid period. Cancellation does not automatically delete your account or block access to the study platform; the school manages platform access separately.
3. Ordinary cancellation and enrollment fees
For an ordinary voluntary cancellation, we do not provide a proportional refund for unused days in the current paid period. Delivered digital materials and lessons cannot be returned.
The standard one-time enrollment fee is ¥22,000. It covers the level assessment, individual study plan, account setup and course materials. A discount or waiver may apply if confirmed in your enrollment offer.
The enrollment fee is not refundable once enrollment services have begun, subject to applicable law. If you request cancellation before those services begin, contact support so we can review the service status and any refund due under your contract and applicable law.
These ordinary cancellation conditions do not limit mandatory cooling-off rights, statutory cancellation rights or refunds for services not supplied as required.
4. School closure of an account and service interruptions
If the school closes your account without a breach of the Terms by you, the unused portion of the paid service period is refunded.
For a prolonged service interruption caused by the school, the contracted period is extended to compensate for lost service time. This does not remove any refund or other remedy required by applicable law.
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, charged twice or charged after a cancellation that should have stopped renewal, contact support with the payment date, amount and receipt reference so we can investigate.
5. Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits a non-waivable right under applicable consumer law, including Japanese law where applicable.
Where your language-course contract qualifies for statutory cooling-off or mid-term cancellation, those rights and the corresponding refund rules take priority over the ordinary cancellation restrictions above.
The Japanese commercial disclosure is available at /legal-notice. Contact us to exercise a right or to obtain information about your specific contract; you do not have to use an account cancellation button to exercise a statutory right.
6. Refund requests and support
Send your request from your registered email address and include your name, course, payment date, amount and receipt or invoice reference. Explain the billing issue or the basis for the refund request so we can check the relevant records.
Do not send your password or full card number. We will confirm the outcome after reviewing the contract, payments and service already supplied. A request does not itself confirm that a refund has been approved.
If a refund is due, support will confirm the amount and processing method. The time until funds appear may depend on the payment processor and your financial institution.
